Job summary

UBEECO in Erskine Park, NSW is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to develop hands-on accounting skills with mentoring from senior staff.

You will assist with journals, reconciliations, reporting, and AR/AP tasks, while receiving structured on-the-job training from a Big 4‑trained finance team. The position offers hybrid working arrangements and a clear path to growth.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Erskine Park.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their accounting career who is looking to develop strong practical finance and accounting skills in a supportive environment.

You will work closely with our Finance Analyst and Finance Manager, gaining hands‑on exposure to a broad range of accounting and financial analysis activities. You will also provide support to the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions as required.

Importantly, you will receive structured on‑job training and guidance from experienced Big 4‑trained finance team members.

No previous work experience is mandatory — we are primarily looking for someone with the right qualifications, attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Working as part of the Finance team, you will assist with:

• Preparing and posting accounting journals.
• Performing routine account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with financial and management reporting.
• Supporting month‑end and year‑end accounting processes.
• Assisting with variance analysis and investigating significant movements.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assisting the Finance Analyst and Finance Manager with accounting, reporting and financial analysis activities.
• Providing support to the Accounts Receivable (AR) function, including customer account reconciliations, receipting and allocation of payments, and other AR activities as required.
• Providing support to the Accounts Payable (AP) function, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and other AP activities as required.
• Working with the broader Finance team to ensure accurate and timely completion of finance processes.
• Assisting with other ad hoc finance and accounting activities as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A recent graduate or early‑career accounting/finance professional.
• Studying towards, or has completed, a suitable undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
• Highly organised and detail‑oriented.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills would be advantageous.
• A clear and professional communicator.
• Proactive, reliable and willing to take ownership of tasks.
• Curious and eager to learn.
• Comfortable supporting different areas of the Finance function as business needs require.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Previous accounting or finance work experience is not mandatory. We welcome applications from suitable graduates who can demonstrate strong academic foundations, a positive attitude and a genuine interest in developing a career in finance.
