Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team in Melbourne. The role reports to the CFO and focuses on supporting core accounting and reporting activities to deliver timely financial information for business operations.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance/Commerce/Business, CA/CPA qualification or current study, and 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, with strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes with journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Assist with management reporting, variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting.
• Assist with AP, AR, fixed assets and bank reconciliations.
• Provide accurate and timely financial data to the broader finance team.
