AMA Group in Launceston, Tasmania, seeks an experienced Area Manager to lead 7 sites across Tasmania and South Australia. This hands-on regional role focuses on operational excellence, profitability, and strong customer partnerships, with regular travel between states.

You will guide Centre Managers, drive safety, and develop regional service strategies while building high-performing teams and managing budgets and performance reviews.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experiencedArea Manager to lead commercial performance, profitability and operational excellence across our 7 sites in Tasmania and South Australia.

Based in Launceston, you'll provide visible leadership to Centre Managers and site teams, building capable teams, strong customer partnerships and safe, high-performing operations. This is a hands-on regional leadership role with regular travel required across both states.

Your key focus areas will include:

• Lead, coach and mentor Centre Managers and site teams to deliver strong operational and commercial results.
• Drive safety culture and ensure compliance with client and legislative requirements.
• Develop and execute regional business and service strategies to achieve financial and operational objectives.
• Build trusted relationships with insurers, fleet customers, brokers, government and private customers to support site throughput.
• Partner with regional leaders, finance and performance teams to prepare budgets, deliver monthly reporting and participate in performance reviews.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and cost control.
• Manage people matters in line with AMA standards and support team development.

What you'll bring

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a service-based industry.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing profit and loss performance.
• A track record of growing sales, improving profitability and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Sound knowledge of employment-related processes, including recruitment and performance management.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Advanced computer literacy, including Excel.
• Experience in automotive repair or insurance, along with relevant tertiary qualifications, will be highly regarded.
