Job summary

Retail Data Acquisition Services in Australia is seeking an Area Manager to oversee stores across quality, customer service, merchandising, food, fuel and all store operations.

You will audit in the field, coach and influence teams, identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical changes. Regular travel across VIC South East with occasional overnight stays will be required to support new openings and field initiatives, ensuring consistent standards and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, fast food, food service, petrol & convenience or auditing.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify operational gaps.
• Experience with standards, compliance, processes or performance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to coach, influence and work with people at all levels.
• Ability to analyse information and produce clear reports.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Good commercial awareness and a focus on achieving results.
• A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Champion retail standards across stores, including merchandising, marketing, point-of-sale and customer service.
• Conduct quality, standards, audit and product compliance checks.
• Monitor compliance across food safety, safe working practices and workplace health & safety.
• Identify operational gaps and develop and implement improvement plans with Licensees and Store Managers.
• Coach and train store teams to ensure consistent brand and operational standards.
• Complete the full audit cycle, assessing operational effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance.
• Analyze audit findings and store data, preparing clear reports and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, marketing and store performance and support their implementation.
• Build strong relationships with Licensees, Store Managers and internal and external stakeholders.
• Support new store openings and the rollout of field programs and initiatives.
• Travel regularly across South East VIC including some overnight stays.
