Job summary

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced APS6 Planner to join a Federal Government Safeguarding Advisory Team. Based in Parramatta or Wollongong, you will assess complex participant situations, provide safeguarding advice, and coordinate risk interventions with internal and external partners.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) with a competitive pay rate of 61.86 AUD per hour (APS 6) including casual loading, plus 12% superannuation. Start date 11 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing complex and sensitive information and identifying key risks.
• Ability to develop evidence-based safeguarding recommendations and advice.
• Excellent written communication for reports, briefs and correspondence.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess complex participant situations, identify risks and recommend safeguarding actions.
• Develop evidence-based safeguarding advice for complex matters.
• Provide clear written and verbal advice to stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions on safeguarding issues.
• Liaise with government agencies and service providers to support safeguarding outcomes.
• Manage urgent and short-term safeguarding interventions within a case management framework.
• Contribute to quality improvement and guidance materials.
