The Role
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in HR, recruitment, office administration, or a related field, or the ability to quickly acquire the relevant skills and knowledge.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate activities and achieve quality outcomes, often within tight deadlines.
- Well developed written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence, briefing material and other documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage information accurately, including maintaining records in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently.
- A customer focused approach, with a commitment to providing responsive and professional support.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities, business needs and operational requirements.

About our Team
The Directorate delivers a broad range of HR services that support the SES workforce throughout the employment lifecycle. We are a welcoming, supportive, collaborative and high performing team that works across a diverse range of HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding through to workforce management, learning and development, performance management, reporting and separations, as well as providing HR advice to the SES on conditions of employment and other related career matters.
The Directorate's work is varied, fast-paced and provides exposure to a wide range of HR functions, offering an excellent opportunity to develop HR knowledge and experience. Working with stakeholders from across Defence and the broader APS, the Directorate plays an important role in supporting the workforce that leads and delivers Defence's strategic priorities.
