Job summary

CDPP is seeking an Assistant Manager, Recruitment (Executive Level 1) to lead a small recruitment team and oversee high‑quality, timely recruitment services across the agency.

You will partner with senior leaders to provide expert recruitment advice and develop sourcing strategies aligned with the CDPP Workforce Plan and Employee Value Proposition, using insights to inform approaches and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small recruitment team and oversee delivery of recruitment services across CDPP.
• Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to provide expert recruitment advice and develop sourcing strategies.
• Develop sourcing and attraction strategies aligned with the Workforce Plan and EVP; inform approaches with workforce insights.
• Lead improvements and automation of the CDPP's e‑Recruit system and deliver recruitment process improvements.
• Provide advice on APS recruitment legislation, policy and merit‑based selection principles; prepare briefs and reports for senior audiences.
• Manage relationships with external recruitment and assessment providers.

About the role

As the Assistant Manager, Recruitment, you will lead a small recruitment team and oversee the delivery of high-quality, timely and compliant recruitment services across the CDPP.

You will partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to provide expert recruitment advice, develop sourcing and attraction strategies aligned with the CDPP Workforce Plan and Employee Value Proposition, and use workforce and candidate insights to inform recruitment approaches.

The role also has a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement. You will lead improvements and automation of the CDPP's e-Recruit system and identify and deliver projects that streamline recruitment processes, strengthen governance and improve the candidate and hiring manager experience.

You will provide advice on APS recruitment legislation, policy and merit-based selection principles, prepare high-quality briefs and reports for senior audiences, and manage relationships with external recruitment and assessment providers.

About you

You are an experienced recruitment professional who can balance strategic thinking with the delivery of high-quality operational recruitment outcomes.

You will bring demonstrated experience leading end-to-end recruitment in a high-volume or complex environment and a strong understanding of APS merit-based recruitment principles and relevant legislation.

You are a confident leader who enjoys coaching and developing others and can build productive relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders. You will also be adaptable, organised and solutions-focused, with strong project management skills and a genuine interest in improving the way recruitment services are delivered.
