The Opportunity

The People Branch within the Chief Operating Officer Division at ASD, is responsible for developing and implementing key people strategies, policies and programs that support delivery of the our strategic objectives.

The ASD Recruitment and On-boarding (R&O) Section within the People Branch plays a critical role in managing and coordinating recruitment to deliver REDSPICE growth. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Section administers recruitment processes to ensure timely and effective placement of candidates across ASD. These recruitment pathways include ongoing and non-ongoing engagements, transfers, promotions and Entry Level Programs. The R&O Section also supports candidates throughout their on-boarding journey, providing guidance and assistance to ensure a seamless transition into the Organisation.

Stakeholder engagement, customer service and strong communication skills are an essential part of this role as the Section is the central point of contact for various stakeholders. You will be required to communicate deadlines, issues and timeframes to both internal and external teams confidently.

We are seeking high-performing professionals who are adaptable, resilient and thrive in a dynamic environment to fill multiple ASD 4 & 5 Recruitment & On-boarding Officer positions within the Section.

In this role, you will be a part of a collaborative team that values professionalism, sound judgement and delivering high quality outcomes. You will be working closely with key stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of end-to-end recruitment while maintaining focus on ASD's strategic objectives.

Key Duties:
  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficiency throughout the process.
  • Advertise job vacancies on various recruitment platforms.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews.
  • Maintain candidate and recruitment records as per the agreed records management requirements.
  • Action recruitment and on-boarding processes using eRecruit.
  • Provide high-quality recruitment advice and support to stakeholders on recruitment policies, processes and best practice.
  • Support managers and employees throughout the on-boarding process.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with candidates.
  • Monitor on-boarding progress and follow up on outstanding requirements.
  • Develop and maintain talent pools for future recruitment needs.

An ideal candidate for ASD 4 & 5 Recruitment & On-boarding Officers role will demonstrate interest in and/or experience within Human Resources, Administration, Customer Service or Service Delivery including skills such as:

ASD 4:
  • Understanding of recruitment, onboarding and merit pool management.
  • The ability to exemplify the ASD Values with the proven ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of people, including at an internal and external senior executive level.

ASD 5:
  • Demonstrable skills in recruitment, onboarding and merit pool management along with understanding of the recruitment legislation, policies and procedures
  • Ability to contribute in planning and managing recruitment projects and activities
  • The ability to exemplify the ASD Values with the proven ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of people.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail, with the ability to take responsibility for own actions and accurate completion of work.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and triage effectively while still ensuring key targets are met both individually and as part of a team.
