Job summary

Sutcliffe Meats is seeking enthusiastic Apprentice Butchers (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Year) to join its busy team at the Girraween site. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in meat processing while gaining hands-on experience from skilled professionals.

As an Apprentice Butcher, you will work with experienced butchers to develop skills across meat preparation, processing, presentation, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or commencing a butcher apprenticeship.
• Willingness to learn across all aspects of butchery.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality and teamwork.
• Committed to a long-term career in meat processing.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply butchery techniques under the guidance of qualified tradespeople.
• Assist with meat preparation, cutting, trimming, and portioning.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness.
• Support daily production requirements and stock management.
• Work collaboratively as part of a busy team environment.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
