True Painting & Decorating in Williamtown, NSW is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Painter to join our team. You will work full-time, gaining hands-on experience while completing formal qualifications under experienced mentors.

You’ll assist with interior and exterior projects, prepare surfaces, apply paint, and learn safe work practices. The role offers comprehensive on-the-job training, mentorship, and progression within a supportive workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Year 10 minimum education.
• Willingness to learn and complete apprenticeship.
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Able to work at heights and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced painters on interior and exterior jobs.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming.
• Apply paint with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Mix paints and ensure colour matching.
• Set up and maintain work areas and protect surfaces.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Learn to use and maintain painting tools.
• Assist with wallpapering where required.
• Receive on-the-job training toward formal qualifications.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers.

True Painting & Decorating is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Painter to join our team in Williamtown, NSW. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a rewarding career in the painting and decorating industry. As an apprentice, you will work full-time, gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced professionals while completing your formal qualifications. This role is ideal for someone keen to develop practical skills, learn industry best practices, and build a solid foundation for a long-term career in painting and decorating.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting experienced painters with interior and exterior painting projects
• Preparing surfaces including cleaning, sanding, filling and priming walls and woodwork
• Applying paint using various techniques and tools such as brushes, rollers and spray equipment
• Mixing paints and ensuring correct colour matching and consistency
• Setting up and maintaining work areas, including protecting floors and furniture
• Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
• Learning to use and maintain painting equipment and tools correctly
• Assisting with decorative finishes and wallpapering where required
• Completing on-the-job training whilst working towards your formal painting qualifications
• Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues and customers

What we’re looking for
