Job summary

Visy is offering an Electrical Apprenticeship at the Smithfield Beverage Can plant. You will learn from experienced tradespeople and develop practical skills across electrical maintenance, fault finding and automated manufacturing systems.

This day-shift role runs from 6:00am to 2:30pm, providing hands-on experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment and the opportunity to graduate as a qualified Electrician with strong career pathways within Visy.

Qualifications

• Completed Year10 and above.
• Genuine interest in electrical systems, automation and manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with a hands-on learning approach.

• Complete a 4-year Electrical Apprenticeship in an FMCG environment.

About the opportunity:

Working at our Smithfield Beverage Can manufacturing plant, you’ll learn from experienced tradespeople while developing practical skills across electrical maintenance, fault finding and automated manufacturing systems.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll gain valuable exposure to a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment and work with the equipment and technology that keeps a large-scale production facility running safely and efficiently. This is a day-shift opportunity, working from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

What you will learn:

• Complete a 4-year Electrical Apprenticeship in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing environment.


• Gain hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs across high-speed production equipment.


• Develop practical skills working with PLCs, automation, motors, sensors, control systems, and other electrical equipment.


• Work alongside experienced tradespeople while completing your nationally recognised trade qualifications.


• Gain exposure to a modern manufacturing facility that produces more than 3 million beverage cans every day.


• Graduate as a qualified Electrician with practical experience in large-scale manufacturing and strong career pathways within the business.
