Job summary

Firmus Technologies in Australia is seeking a Platform Reliability Engineering Manager to lead the platform reliability team responsible for AI FactoryOS and Firmus AI Cloud operations. This hands-on leadership role requires deep cloud infra knowledge (Linux, Kubernetes), incident management, and the ability to drive runbooks and automation while coordinating across time zones.

Based in Australia or Singapore, the role reports to the Head of AI FactoryOS Operations and leads a team of engineers

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of 24/7 operations in large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on engineering in Linux, networking, storage, Kubernetes or virtualization.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Go, Bash) and infrastructure as code.
• Familiar with ITIL-like service management and incident, change, and problem management.
• Excellent communication and judgement under pressure.
• Experience with ITSM tools like Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, PagerDuty and Grafana.
• Experience building and growing engineering teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the platform reliability team across regions.
• Oversee 24/7 on-call and incident command rosters.
• Act as incident commander for major incidents.
• Guide diagnosis and recovery, review root cause analyses, runbooks and automation.
• Manage service level objectives and report performance to leadership.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on escalation paths and commitments.
• Drive runbooks and automation to fix common faults.
• Develop a clear development path for engineers into senior roles.
• Ensure new services are production-ready and supported in production.
• Turn production evidence into improvement requirements and follow through to closure.
• Support customer and leadership reporting during reviews.
