Job summary

McMillan Shakespeare Group (MMS) is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to design, develop, deploy and support secure, scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. You’ll lead Co-pilot agents, generative AI workflows and intelligent automation across business and technology teams.

You will translate priorities into production-ready solutions, drive adoption, monitoring and continuous improvement across the AI lifecycle while ensuring security and governance alignment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience delivering AI/ML/generative AI solutions into production.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including APIs, tests, source control and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy AI/ML solutions aligned to business priorities and approved architecture.
• Develop Co-pilot, AI assistants, agents and intelligent automation to improve outcomes and productivity.
• Translate business problems into practical AI use cases, requirements and delivery plans.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation, prompts, orchestration, APIs and integrations with data platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to source, prepare and manage reliable data with appropriate quality and lineage controls.
• Apply software engineering, DevOps and MLOps practices including version control, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment and observability.
• Work with Cyber Security, Privacy, Risk and AI Governance to meet policies and regulatory obligations.
