Job summary

McMillan Shakespeare is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to design, develop, deploy and support secure, scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. The role blends software engineering, machine learning, generative AI and automation to build AI products, copilots, agents and intelligent workflows.

You will translate priority opportunities into production‑ready solutions and partner with Data Engineering, Cyber Security, Privacy and AI Governance to ensure governance across the AI

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience in CS, software engineering, data science or related field.
• Proven experience delivering AI/ML solutions into production.
• Strong programming and software engineering skills (Python, APIs, testing, CI/CD).
• Experience with cloud AI platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with MLOps, observability and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy AI, ML and generative AI solutions aligned to business priorities and approved architecture.
• Develop Co-pilot, AI assistants, agents and intelligent automation.
• Translate business problems into practical AI use cases and delivery plans.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation solutions, orchestration patterns and enterprise integrations.
• Partner with Data Engineering to source, prepare and manage reliable data with governance controls.
• Apply DevOps and MLOps practices including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and deployment.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security, Privacy and AI Governance to meet regulatory obligations.
