Job summary

McMillan Shakespeare (MMSG) is undergoing a major technology transformation and seeks an AI Engineering Lead to design, develop, deploy and support secure AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will work across software engineering, ML and automation to build AI products, Co-pilots and intelligent workflows.

The role involves translating business problems into practical AI use cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring production-ready delivery with robust

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering AI, ML, or generative AI solutions into production.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including APIs, automated testing, source control and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms and services such as Azure AI Foundry or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, and agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy AI, ML and generative AI solutions aligned to business priorities and approved architecture.
• Develop Co-pilot, AI assistants, agents and intelligent automation to improve outcomes and productivity.
• Translate business problems into practical AI use cases, requirements, designs and delivery plans.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation solutions, orchestration patterns, APIs and integrations with enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to source, prepare and manage reliable data with quality and lineage controls.
• Apply software engineering, DevOps and MLOps practices including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Work with Cyber Security, Privacy, Risk and AI Governance teams to meet policies and regulatory obligations.
