Job summary

hipages is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a portfolio of software teams across a meaningful domain. You’ll coach Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, set technical direction, and ensure delivery, quality, and alignment to business outcomes in an AI-enabled environment.

You’ll shape how engineering works in an AI-native world, lead through multi-team scale, and collaborate with Product, Design, Data and Commercial teams to maximise impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in engineering leadership.
• Experience leading multiple teams or Engineering Managers.
• Ability to align engineering with product and commercial strategy.
• Experience in AI-augmented engineering and agile at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead through Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, coaching them as leaders and accountable for team health and delivery.
• Own technical and architectural direction across domain, aligned to standards.
• Set the engineering quality bar across CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and reliability.
• Partner with senior Product and Design to shape domain strategy and sequencing.
• Own end-to-end delivery across multiple teams with planning and risk management.
• Build and maintain a clear technical roadmap balancing architecture and feature delivery.
• Identify cross-team risks early and manage dependencies.
• Ensure teams have clear, measurable OKRs aligned to domain outcomes.
• Lead AI-forward ways of working and adapt team models for AI-enabled delivery.
