Job summary

Bastion Group in Bayswater, Melbourne, is seeking a Scheduling Manager to own and optimise the master production schedule in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace/defence environment. You will balance demand, capacity, materials and program milestones to ensure on-time delivery.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement and leverage ERP/MRP and BI tools to enhance schedule accuracy and visibility across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing planning and scheduling.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of master production scheduling, capacity planning and MRP/ERP systems.
• Advanced analytical skills including data modelling, scenario analysis and KPI reporting.
• Exposure to AS9100, configuration management and first article inspection.
• Exceptional stakeholder management with ability to influence decisions.
• Continuous improvement mindset to translate scheduling challenges into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the master production schedule translating demand into achievable plans.
• Manage capacity, bottlenecks and scheduling priorities across operations.
• Align material requirements and supplier readiness with production schedules.
• Monitor schedule performance, analyse variances and implement recovery plans.
• Develop KPIs and reporting to improve schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
• Drive planning system accuracy and the use of ERP/MRP and BI tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and program management on changes and new product introduction.
