Drive production performance. Master the schedule. Deliver on critical programs.

Are you an experienced manufacturing scheduling professional ready to make a real impact in the aerospace and defence sector?

My client has the enviable reputation of being an industry leader and innovator in its field.

They are seeking a commercially minded, analytical and proactive Scheduling Manager to take ownership of its manufacturing master schedule, ensuring production capacity, materials, engineering and customer commitments are aligned to deliver on critical program milestones.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a complex, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment where precision, planning and execution matter.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, Aerostructures, you will lead the development and execution of integrated production schedules, balancing customer demand, resource capacity, material availability and operational priorities.

You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Program Management to identify constraints, manage risks and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and maintain the master production schedule, translating customer demand and program milestones into achievable production plans.
  • Manage capacity, bottlenecks and scheduling priorities across machining, special processing, assembly and test operations.
  • Align material requirements and supplier readiness with production schedules, proactively managing lead-time risks.
  • Monitor schedule performance, analyse variances and implement recovery plans to protect delivery commitments.
  • Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting to improve schedule adherence, on-time delivery and operational visibility.
  • Drive planning system accuracy, process improvement and more effective use of ERP/MRP and business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate across the business to support engineering changes, first article inspections and new product introduction.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years' experience in manufacturing planning and scheduling, ideally within aerospace or defence.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of master production scheduling, capacity planning and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including data modelling, scenario analysis and KPI reporting.
  • Exposure to AS9100, configuration management, first article inspection and special processes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and drive decisions.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to turn complex scheduling challenges into practical solutions.

A degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Why Us?

This is your opportunity to influence manufacturing performance in a technically demanding aerospace and defence environment. You'll have genuine ownership of the production planning function, work alongside experienced technical and operational teams, and help strengthen the systems and processes that underpin reliable delivery.

If you thrive on solving complex scheduling challenges, improving operational performance and keeping critical manufacturing programs on track, we’d like to hear from you.

This opportunity could be the defining moment in your career.
