Job summary

Australian Red Cross is seeking an Adviser - Business Partnerships in Sydney to develop and grow relationships with corporate, philanthropic and other partners, to secure income, drive strategic value and build non-financial support for Red Cross’ work. This permanent, full-time role operates on a hybrid model with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

The role involves acquiring new partners, creating compelling pitches and proposals, and delivering long-term donor value across revenue,

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, business development, account management, sponsorship or marketing.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with decision makers in corporations and foundations.
• Proven ability to assemble compelling pitches and funding proposals.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of existing partners providing financial, pro bono or in-kind support.
• Initiate, negotiate and secure a range of sustainable funding relationships.
• Support the development of high quality pitches, proposals and grants/tenders.
• Provide strategic advice on funding trends and opportunities to meet business priorities.
• Establish and grow partnerships delivering financial and non-financial value.
• Research and acquire new partners and manage engagement through donor journey.

About the role

As an Adviser - Business Partnerships, your focus will be to develop and grow relationships with corporate, philanthropic and other partners, to secure income generation, drive strategic value, and build non-financial support for Red Cross’ work. You will assist with the acquisition of new government, corporate and philanthropic partners through targeted prospecting, industry networking and identification of new opportunities.

Day to day you will

• Manage a portfolio of existing relationships with partners that provide financial, pro bono or in-kind support for Red Cross.
• Initiate, meet with, negotiate and secure a range of sustainable funding relationships.
• Support the development of high quality pitches, funding proposals and grants/tenders.
• Provide strategic advice on funding and sector trends and identify opportunities to ensure the organisation is well positioned to meet its business priorities.
• Establish and grow partnerships that deliver both financial and non-financial value for Red Cross.
• Research and acquire new partners who we can build a long term partnerships with - as true business partners to deliver on strategy (revenue, probono, advocacy). This will include screening of potential partners, ensuring engagement and communication plans are developed and delivered and facilitating a smooth transition of the relationship along the donor journey from acquisition to retention and growth.

What you will bring

• Sound knowledge gained through experience in a corporation or NGO in fundraising, business development, account management, sponsorship or marketing role
• Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with decision makers of corporations and foundations
• Strong understanding and demonstrated ability to coordinate and put together compelling quality pitches
• Proficient in using data analytic tools
• Good understanding of legal, financial and ethical issues related to partnerships
• Sound analytical and research skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, solve problems apply findings as appropriate
