Northline, an Australian‑owned global logistics business, is seeking an Administration Manager to lead the administrative functions that underpin freight operations. You will manage people, processes and performance, drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and build strong relationships with customers, operational teams and stakeholders.

This is a strategic, hands‑on role that will identify improvements, enhance service delivery and foster accountability and collaboration across the business.

About the Role

As the Administration Manager, you will lead and oversee the administrative functions that support our freight operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement across the business.

This role requires a strategic and hands‑on leader who can effectively manage people, processes, and performance while fostering strong relationships with customers, operational teams, and key stakeholders.

Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will identify opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness, improve customer outcomes, and drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the administration team, promoting engagement, capability development, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and coordinate all administrative activities supporting freight operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify process improvements that enhance productivity, customer experience, and business performance.
  • Analyse operational and administrative data to support decision‑making, resource planning, and performance outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring prompt and professional resolution of customer and stakeholder enquiries.
  • Drive a culture that reflects Northline's commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support workforce planning, training, and succession development initiatives within the administration team.
  • Foster strong cross‑functional relationships to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the business.
About You

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a transport, logistics, supply chain, or operational administration environment.
  • Strong operational and commercial awareness, with the ability to balance customer expectations, business priorities, and team performance.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong working relationships across all levels.
  • Proven ability to analyse information, identify opportunities, and implement practical solutions that improve business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A customer‑centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams to maximise engagement and performance.
  • Well‑developed problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, particularly in time‑sensitive and high‑pressure situations.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and strong systems capability.
  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transport, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
