Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be organised, reliable and detail oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and communication skills, discretion with confidential information, proactive customer-focused support for managers and team members.
  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • High level of organisation and time management.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Some government experience an advantage (not essential).

Role Description

The Administrative Officer provides a broad range of administrative services and leverages extensive business unit knowledge to support the unit's program of work and facilitate the delivery of business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a range of administrative and support services to meet the business needs of the team/unit
  • Respond to, and resolve, complex enquiries and issues to ensure the provision of accurate information, and the timely and effective resolution of issues
  • Coordinate and manage records and databases
  • Develop, implement and monitor office systems, procedures and methods - adapting processes and techniques as required
  • Gather and collate information for, and prepare documentation and reports on business unit performance, as well as make recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management and service delivery
Skills and Experience
  • Must be organised, reliable, and detail oriented; with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrate strong written and communication skills, discretion when handling confidential information and a proactive, customer‑focused approach to supporting managers and team members
  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role
  • High level of organisation and time management
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
