Job summary

TK Maxx Australia seeks an Accounts Payable Team Leader to steer the AP function, ensuring accurate, timely invoice processing and strong vendor management within a high-volume environment.

You will lead a team, drive continuous improvement, and partner with offshore providers, implementing automation and system optimisations with Oracle and Aptos. This role offers a hands-on leadership path and contributes to finance transformation across the business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in Accounts Payable Team Leader or Supervisor role.
• Experience leading teams in high-volume transactional environments.
• Experience with offshore or outsourced service providers desirable.
• Experience in finance transformation, system implementation, or process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and work cross-functionally.
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivots, data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Oracle, Aptos or similar finance systems.
• Exposure to Power BI and Power Query desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations with accuracy, compliance and timely invoice processing.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, setup, maintenance and governance of vendor master data.
• Drive process improvements, automation and system optimisations across AP operations.

Lead the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant invoice processing, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Operations

• Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, regulatory compliance, supplier reconciliations
• Workload management, and performance reporting to support efficient service delivery.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, setup, maintenance and changes within Oracle and Aptos.
• Ensure vendor master data is accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with governance and compliance requirements.
• Review and strengthen controls relating to vendor creation and maintenance to minimise fraud and data integrity risks.

Leadership and Team Development

• Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team, driving performance, engagement
• Continuous improvement and the successful adoption of change while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture.

Process Improvement and Transformation

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, eliminate manual activities and increase operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Accounts Payable operations and support and implement automation, workflow enhancements and system optimisation initiatives.

Project and Stakeholder Management

• Provide Accounts Payable subject matter expertise to support system enhancements, process transformation and business initiatives.
• Assist with project planning, testing, implementation, training and post-implementation support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and outsourced service providers.

Ideal Education, Qualifications and Competencies

Experience

• Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience in an Accounts Payable Team Leader or Supervisor role. Have a strong understanding of Accounts Payable, and vendor management practices.
• Experience leading and developing teams within a high-volume transactional environment.
• Experience working with offshore or outsourced service providers is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience participating in finance transformation, system implementation or process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Oracle, Aptos or similar finance systems.
• Exposure to Power BI and Power Query is desirable.
