Job summary

Balance Search seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a busy finance team in Cannington, WA. You will ensure timely supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations, while supporting junior staff and driving process improvement within a growing construction services business.

You will report to the AP Team Leader, build strong cross‑business relationships, and contribute to month‑end activities and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable within a busy team environment.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems; MYOB experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices accurately and within required timeframes.
• Review invoices for correct coding, approvals and supporting docs.
• Maintain supplier records and AP ledger integrity.
• Prepare creditor payment runs and ad hoc payments.
• Process employee reimbursement requests.
• Complete credit card reconciliations and supporting docs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Follow up outstanding approvals to ensure timely payments.
• Respond to supplier/internal enquiries professionally.
• Support month-end activities including reconciliations and accrual reviews.
• Assist with audits, reporting and improvement initiatives.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members.
