Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team south of the River in Western Australia. You will own end-to-end AP processing, match invoices to PO and documentation, and ensure timely supplier payments within a fast-paced construction environment.

This permanent, full-time role emphasises accuracy, strong stakeholder management, and collaboration with the wider finance team, particularly during month-end activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Accounts Payable or similar transactional finance position.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
• Able to manage high-volume invoice processing with accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable processing, including high-volume invoice entry and processing.

• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate invoice discrepancies.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a well-established business within the building and construction industry. Based South of the River, this is a great opportunity to join a growing finance team in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Role

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable processing, including high-volume invoice entry and processing.
• Match supplier invoices against work orders and purchase documentation, ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained.
• Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with agreed deadlines.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Respond to supplier queries and liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records within the finance system.
• Assist with month-end processes and provide general support to the wider finance team.

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar transactional finance position.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
• Confident managing high-volume invoice processing while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive supplier relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
