Job summary

A prominent hospitality group based in Melbourne is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer for a 6-month contract. You will ensure accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments, contributing to a high-performing finance function. We’re looking for a motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed‑term contract based at our Melbourne Head Office.

This is a great opportunity to step into a high‑performing, supportive Finance function and gain experience in a large, fast‑paced organisation.

As our Accounts Payable Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices and payments across the AVC Group throughout this 6‑month contract period.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing supplier invoices through our AP invoicing system and ERP
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues arising from the scan/capture system
• Preparing regular supplier reconciliations, particularly for high-volume vendors
• Responding to queries and payment requests from internal and external stakeholders
• Preparing EFT payment runs on a bi‑weekly basis
• Supporting the Accounts Payable Manager with ad‑hoc AP tasks

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role
• Strong understanding of AP systems, processes and high-volume processing
• Advanced MS Excel skills and strong overall Microsoft Suite competency
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage a busy inbox
• A proactive, positive attitude and confidence to make decisions
• Qualifications in Business, Commerce or Finance (desired but not essential)
