Job summary

New Simberi Gold is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer for a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Accountant, you will manage company creditors in Australia and PNG, ensuring timely processing and payment within required timeframes while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key duties include high-volume invoice processing (including foreign currencies), PO matching, payment runs, vendor master maintenance, and monthly reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in accounts payable.
• Experience with Pronto or similar ERP.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with multi-currency invoicing.
• Mining industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent team player with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume invoice batching and processing (including foreign currencies).
• Ensure creditor invoices are processed timely, efficiently and accurately.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and ensure proper approvals before payment.
• Prepare creditor statement reconciliations and address discrepancies monthly.
• Prepare and upload payment runs to the banking system.
• Maintain vendor accounts (setup and updates).
• Respond to creditor queries and maintain supplier relationships.
• Liaise with site representatives and suppliers effectively.

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. This is a permanent full time position based in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Accountant, this role will accurately record and administer company creditors, ensuring creditors are processed and paid within required timeframes, with a focus on the Australian and Pacific Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Processing of high-volume invoice batching and processing (including in foreign currencies)
• Ensuring creditor invoices are processed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
• Ensuring invoices are matched with correct purchase orders and appropriately approved prior to payment
• Performing accurate creditor statement reconciliations against invoices and addressing discrepancies each month
• Preparing payment runs for approval and upload into the Company's banking system for processing
• Undertaking vendor accounts maintenance (setup and update)
• Responding to creditor queries and maintaining effective relations with the Company's suppliers
• Liaising with site representatives and suppliers in an efficient manner
• Ensuring the filing of accounts payable files is up to date and archiving is completed as required
• Contributing proactively to identify business improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounts payable processes in Australian and PNG Operations

About you

• Previous relevant extensive experience in an accounts payable role
• Experience using accounts payable module in Pronto or similar ERP system
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience using Redmap is desirable
• Strong ability to work effectively within a team
• Positive can-do attitude and proactive approach, including accepting tasks outside of the general scope of duties
• High energy and demonstrated capacity to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks and deliver to promise
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to persuade and express ideas
• Experience working in the Mining Industry would be an advantage
