Job summary

Hume Doors & Timber (Aust) Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage end-to-end AP processes from our Sydney operation. You will handle high volumes of invoices, 3-way matching, and timely payment runs while maintaining supplier records and supporting month-end closes.

Ideal candidates have several years in AP, solid ERP experience (Epicor preferred), strong Excel skills, and meticulous accuracy.

Qualifications

• Several years' experience in a full-function accounts payable role in a computerized accounting environment, ideally in manufacturing, distribution or building products.
• Working knowledge of an ERP system. We use Epicor, so experience with it is highly regarded
• Intermediate Excel skills or above
• A high level of accuracy and a methodical approach to deadlines
• Clear, confident communication with suppliers and colleagues
• A team player who takes ownership and looks for better ways of working
• Current working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of local & overseas supplier invoices, including 3-way matching to purchase orders and goods receipts
• Prepare and process weekly & monthly payment runs (EFT, BPAY & TT)
• Reconcile creditor and supplier statements and resolve discrepancies quickly
• Set up and maintain supplier records, including verifying bank details to prevent fraud
• Handle supplier and internal queries professionally
• Support month-end close with accruals, reconciliations and reporting
• Help improve AP processes and controls

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and Financial Controller, you'll manage the full accounts payable process. Our suppliers and internal teams rely on you to keep payments accurate and on time.

Key responsibilities
