Job summary

Ghella Limited in North Sydney is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. You will contribute to financial reporting, project accounting and compliance activities across major infrastructure projects in Australia.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders, support month-end and year-end closing, budgeting and forecasting, and help ensure accurate financial information with Australian accounting standards and GST compliance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and local tax requirements.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of financial and management reports across multiple entities and projects.
• Support project accounting activities, including cost allocation, WIP reporting, cost tracking and variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and monitoring project financial performance.
• Support Australian tax compliance activities, including GST, BAS and FBT.
• Assist with intercompany transactions, group reporting and audit requirements.
• Contribute to improvements in accounting processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Work closely with the Finance team and project stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis at our North Sydney office, working across major infrastructure projects in Australia.

As part of our Finance team, you will contribute to financial reporting, project accounting and compliance activities, collaborating with key stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting;
• Assist with the preparation of financial and management reports across multiple entities and projects;
• Support project accounting activities, including cost allocation, WIP reporting, cost tracking and variance analysis;
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and monitoring project financial performance;

About You

Highly Regarded:

• Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, heavy industry or other project-based environments;
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar;
• CA or CPA qualification, or currently working towards it.
