Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking a Group Project Accountant to oversee project financials across Australia. You will manage WIP and forecasts, prepare invoices for clients, contractors and suppliers, and contribute to regular reporting and budgeting.

The role supports a flexible hybrid setup, with permanent placement in Sydney or Melbourne and eligibility criteria for local residents. The ideal candidate has project accounting experience in professional services, strong invoicing, WIP management

Qualifications

• Experience in project accounting within a professional services firm is preferred.
• Proven skills in invoicing, WIP tracking, forecasting and cash collection.
• Experience across multi-entity groups managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process client, contractor and supplier invoices per project terms.
• Set up billing terms, manage WIP, fee forecasts and billing schedules.
• Monitor project financial health and flag underperforming projects.
• Support regular financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and budgeting.
• Produce collection forecasts and support accounts receivable and timely cash collection.
• Maintain compliance with internal financial standards and timesheets.

They are looking for a Group Project Accountant to provide financial oversight and analysis of project performance and manage WIP and forecasting for multiple projects across Australia.

Duties will include:

• Prepare and process client, contractor and supplier invoices in line with agreed project terms
• Set up billing terms for new projects and manage WIP, fee forecasts and billing schedules
• Monitor project financial health and identify underperforming projects supporting corrective action
• Contribute to regular financial reporting, forecasting and variance analysis, and support the annual group budget
• Produce collection forecasts and support accounts receivable and timely cash collection
• Maintain compliance with internal financial standards, processes and timesheet requirements

About you

• Experience in project accounting - ideally in a professional services firm - landscape architecture, design, engineering or construction preferred
• Proven skills in project accounting - project invoicing, managing WIP, project forecasting and cash control/accounts receivable
• Experience in a Group or multi-entity role managing multiple projects
• An effective business partner with the ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

This is a permanent role and can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne and offers flexible, hybrid working.
