Golding Contractors in Brisbane seeks an experienced Accountant to join our team, supporting a major mining project and providing on-site financial insight. The role focuses on management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial governance to drive cost discipline across the project.

You will lead month‑end reporting, coordinate with site teams and the Brisbane P2P function, and provide commercial advice to project leaders.

Formación

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualification or working towards completion.
• Experience in management or site-based accounting environments.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting capabilities.
• Experience in mining/construction/project environments is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Lead month-end reporting, including accruals, cost allocation reviews and variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting against key financial targets.
• Support monthly project reviews, project workbook maintenance and cost forecasting activities.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide accurate financial insights and improve cost accountability.
• Work closely with Site Administration and the Brisbane P2P team to maintain procurement and invoice controls.
• Manage and resolve issues relating to unmatched invoices, goods receipts and open purchase orders.
• Drive improvements in P2P compliance, reporting and financial governance.
• Provide training and support to site-based Administration, Purchasing and Operational teams on key financial processes.
• Support the preparation of monthly project claims and contractual reporting requirements.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to project leaders and contract managers.

Golding are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Brisbane, supporting a major mining project.

Golding is a successful mining, urban and civil infrastructure project management services business with projects and operations in Queensland and South Australia. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Brisbane, supporting a major mining project while maintaining a regular presence on site.

This role offers the opportunity to move beyond traditional accounting responsibilities and become a trusted business partner to project leaders, contract managers and site-based teams. You will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, cost control, commercial support and driving financial discipline across the project.

While the role is Brisbane-based, regular travel to site will be required to build relationships, support operational teams and maintain a strong understanding of project performance.

Key Role Tasks:

Management Accounting

• Lead month-end reporting, including accruals, cost allocation reviews and variance analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting against key financial targets.
• Support monthly project reviews, project workbook maintenance and cost forecasting activities.

Commercial Support

• Support the preparation of monthly project claims and contractual reporting requirements.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to project leaders and contract managers.
• Assist with the management of supplier and subcontractor agreements in conjunction with Legal and Commercial teams.
• Monitor commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring effective contract and cost management across the project.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion).
• Previous experience in management accounting, project accounting or site-based accounting environments.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience working within mining, construction, civil, resources or project-based industries will be highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence both financial and operational teams.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to regularly travel to site.
