Golding Contractors is seeking an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor for a casual site-based role across civil infrastructure projects in Queensland. You will partner with project teams to promote safety, provide practical guidance and help ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Flights, camp accommodation and meals are provided for non-local projects; rosters may vary by project. This hands-on role requires strong communication and field leadership on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and safety roles in civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to identify and manage workplace risks on multi-site civil projects.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments and implementing controls.
• Strong incident investigation and corrective action management.

Golding is a successful mining, urban and civil infrastructure project management services business with projects and operations across Queensland and South Australia. We're on the lookout for an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our team on a casual employment arrangement. This role will focus on short to midterm site coverage supporting a range of civil infrastructure projects across Queensland. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role where you'll work closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture, provide practical guidance, and help ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Flights, camp accommodation, meals will be provided for non-local projects. Rosters may vary from project to project.

What You'll Be Doing

Partner with project teams to identify, assess and manage workplace risks across multiple civil construction projects.

Conduct site inspections, field leadership interactions, and safety observations to support frontline teams.

Facilitate risk assessments and ensure critical controls are implemented and maintained.

Lead and support incident investigations, including ICAM investigations where required.

Assist with the development and implementation of project‑specific safety initiatives and monitoring programs.

Deliver practical safety advice during toolbox talks, pre‑start meetings, and project planning activities.

Monitor compliance with company, client and legislative safety requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance and workforce wellbeing.

Build strong working relationships with employees, contractors, clients and stakeholders to promote positive safety outcomes.

About You

To be successful, you'll be a confident communicator who can engage with people at all levels and influence positive safety behaviours on site.

You'll ideally bring:

Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.

Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within civil construction, roads, infrastructure, bulk earthworks, or a similar industry.

Experience facilitating risk assessments and managing safety on high‑risk construction activities.

Strong knowledge of incident reporting, investigations and corrective action management.

Experience conducting audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.

The ability to build trusted relationships and provide practical, solutions‑focused safety support.

Experience working on TMR projects and a sound understanding of TMR requirements (highly desirable).
