Job description

  • Armadillo was globally certified as a Great Place to Work in 2026
  • Be part of a growing business with an energetic, friendly and purpose-led team!
  • Identify and grow trade partnerships across Sydney, the North Shore and Northern Beaches.
About Us

Founded in Australia in 2009 by Jodie Fried and Sally Pottharst, Armadillo is a purpose-led rug brand with a global presence. Today, we have showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Dallas.

Every Armadillo rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans, sustaining techniques passed down over generations. Our work is defined by an exacting attention to colour, texture and composition, and by enduring relationships with the artisan communities who bring each piece to life.

A certified B Corp since 2021, we are verified on credible social and environmental business practices. That accountability extends to how we operate, how we partner with clients and suppliers, and how we contribute to the communities around us. We are committed to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI), and to the wellbeing of everyone who works for and with us. These commitments are central to our culture, our collaboration and our decision-making.

We are an Equal Employment Opportunity company and therefore we encourage all candidates to apply.

About the Opportunity

The Account Manager position is perfectly suited to a passionate, confident and driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships across the Architecture & Design community. Reporting to the APAC Regional Director, you’ll split your time between our showroom and the field, managing a portfolio of trade clients across Sydney, the North Shore and the Northern Beaches. Partnering with leading architects, designers and trade professionals, you’ll bring our collections to life through compelling presentations and uncover new opportunities to grow the region.

Alongside your own industry network, you’ll also have access to an established database of exceptional clients who are eager to partner with Armadillo on their next project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance sales through exceptional customer service - position Armadillo as the industry's preferred rug brand by strategically managing relationships with existing customers.
  • Drive sales by cultivating new customer relationships, identify and leverage business development opportunities with a personalised approach.
  • Conduct face-to-face client meetings and deliver compelling brand and product presentations that build brand awareness and educate clients on products.
  • Prepare tailored proposals and quotations for clients and manage projects from initial lead through to post-sale follow-up, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Manage client enquiries both in the showroom and externally.
  • Handle quoting, order processing, invoicing and payment follow-ups, ensuring smooth transaction processes.
  • Maintain the customer database and report on sales performance against KPIs.
  • Work with design and operations teams to integrate customer feedback into projects.
  • Represent Armadillo at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and stay connected to key players in the market.
About You
  • Proven experience in a trade Account Management role with responsibility for sales growth and business development, preferably within the home décor or textiles industry.
  • Impactful presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence clients with varying familiarity with the brand.
  • A highly organised and structured approach, with the ability to plan client visits, presentations, outbound sales activity and in-office time in advance, while remaining responsive and accessible.
  • Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM to generate quotes, process orders and manage customer databases.
  • Ability to monitor and report on sales performance against KPIs.
  • Ability to build and maintain authentic relationships with clients and colleagues and actively listen to client needs and feedback.
  • A natural problem solver who resolves issues efficiently - agility and initiative are a must.
  • A full and current NSW driver’s licence and a willingness to travel.
