Job summary

New Directions Australia in Marrickville, NSW is seeking an Account Manager to join our Packaging team. You will manage end-to-end custom packaging projects, working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams from our Marrickville office.

This hands-on role blends sales, account management, customer service and project coordination. You’ll respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, process orders and coordinate production to ensure on-time delivery while building long-term client

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Handle incoming Packaging enquiries, calls and showroom customers as part of the team.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our Packaging team, managing end-to-end custom packaging projects from initial brief through to delivery, working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams from our Marrickville office.

We're particularly interested in candidates with previous experience in print, packaging or a related industry, although applicants with strong transferable skills will also be considered.

This is a hands-on role combining sales, account management, customer service, project coordination and day-to-day administration. You'll be involved in the full customer and order journey, from responding to enquiries and preparing quotes through to processing orders, coordinating production and managing deliveries.

You will develop your knowledge of our packaging products, systems and processes, progressively taking greater ownership of client accounts and sales opportunities as your experience grows.

The Role

As an Account Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Respond to customer enquiries, understand packaging requirements, prepare quotes and follow up to successfully convert orders
• Manage end-to-end custom packaging projects, coordinating with suppliers, designers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery
• Progressively take ownership of client relationships and accounts, managing projects from initial enquiry through to delivery and building strong, long-term relationships
• Prepare clear, detailed briefs for the Graphic Design team using client input and industry best practices
• Prepare and process quotes, purchase orders and sales orders accurately using SAP, along with general sales administration and order-related tasks.
• Liaise with clients, external suppliers and internal teams (graphic design, accounts, warehouse) to ensure smooth project delivery
• Share responsibility for incoming Packaging enquiries, phone calls and showroom customers as part of the wider Packaging team

About You

• Previous experience in print, packaging or a related industry will be highly regarded
• Experience in account management, sales, customer service or project coordination, with the ability and motivation to manage projects and accounts end-to-end
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail (essential)
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to be hands-on with day-to-day administrative tasks
• A genuine interest in design, branding and packaging
• Familiarity with SAP (advantageous)
• Tertiary qualifications in Business / Commerce, Marketing, or a related field are welcomed but not required.
