Job summary

Institute for Urban Indigenous Health is seeking a Staying Deadly Support Worker to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in the Caboolture region. The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to walk with clients, provide psychosocial supports, and promote independence aligned with individual goals.

The position requires current checks, a valid C class license, and experience in mental health or related social services, with a commitment to culturally safe care.

Qualifications

• Mental health experience or related social service experience.
• Current Criminal History Check.
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence (QLD).
• Current Working with Children’s Check (QLD Blue Card).

Responsibilities

• Lead from care coordinator and multidisciplinary team to support clients holistically.
• Provide practical psychosocial supports to promote client independence and goal achievement.
• Remove barriers to access community services and improve emotional well‑being.
• Engage with internal and external services to facilitate referrals and clear communication.
• Conduct home or community visits to support client recovery.
• Engage natural supports and networks to complement funded services.
