Job summary

Sora Rooftop Bar in Sydney CBD is seeking an experienced 2IC / Assistant Venue Manager to support the Venue Manager and lead day-to-day operations of a premium rooftop venue.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong hospitality experience, staff management skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining exceptional customer service during high-volume services, events and functions.

2IC / Assistant Venue Manager – Sora Rooftop Bar

Sora Rooftop Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated 2IC / Assistant Venue Manager to support the Venue Manager and help lead the day-to-day operations of a rooftop venue. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong hospitality experience who is confident managing staff, overseeing busy services and maintaining a high standard of customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising and leading floor and bar staff during service


• Assisting with opening and closing procedures


• Managing staff breaks, sections and service flow


• Ensuring high standards of customer service and venue presentation


• Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally


• Monitoring RSA compliance and guest behaviour


• Supporting staff training and onboarding


• Assisting with stock control, wastage and stocktakes


• Coordinating with kitchen, security and management teams


• Supporting functions, events and large group bookings

About you

• Previous experience as a 2IC, Duty Manager, Supervisor or Assistant Venue Manager


• Strong leadership and people-management skills


• Experience working in a busy bar, restaurant or premium hospitality venue


• Confidence managing high-volume Friday and Saturday night services


• Strong communication and problem-solving skills


• A hands-on and proactive approach


• Good knowledge of RSA and venue compliance requirements


• Availability to work evenings, weekends and late nights


• A current NSW RSA
