Transdev John Holland Buses NSW invites applications for a 1st Year Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. You will join a team maintaining buses with hands-on training across engines, transmissions, electrical systems and drivelines while completing TAFE studies at Wetherill Park.

Based at multiple depots in Port Botany, Randwick and Waverley, the role offers a structured four-year pathway, a starting pay rate of about $21.13 per hour, and paid leave with tools, PPE and uniform support as you

Qualifications

• Must have some proven interest in the automotive industry.
• Hands-on automotive or mechanical experience including the use of related hand and power tools (preferred).
• Must have a current NSW drivers licence and be willing to upgrade to HR licence if required.
• Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship including TAFE study at Wetherill Park.
• Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified tradespeople in repair, servicing, maintaining and inspecting our fleet of buses and ancillary vehicles.
• Repairs and maintenance of engines, transmissions and drivelines.
• Diagnose and repair ignition and other electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair brake, steering and suspension systems.
• Identify, report and repair vehicle defects.
• Support trades staff with spare parts issuing and allocation.
• Cleaning of the workshop and operate light machinery.
• Complete maintenance records accurately using computer-based systems.

Skills
