Job summary

Transdev John Holland Buses is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair buses, ensuring safety and reliability across our Sydney fleet. The role involves servicing vehicles, diagnosing faults, and conducting road tests, with opportunities to assist apprentices and contribute to EV projects.

You will work at Randwick Depot, with a competitive hourly rate of $46.7505 plus shift allowances, overtime, and benefits including a monthly RDO and free public transport across Sydney.

Qualifications

• Current NSW MVTC Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate (essential).
• TAFE Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (essential).
• Current HR Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices and trade assistants.
• Experience using diagnostic scan tools (desirable).
• Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Repair, service and maintain buses in accordance with regulatory and fleet standards.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle faults and defects.
• Conduct road tests following repairs and maintenance activities.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns both on-site and in the field when required.
• Complete maintenance records accurately using computer-based systems.
• Support and assist in the training and development of apprentices and trade assistants.
• Work collaboratively within a safety-focused team environment.
• Contribute to fleet reliability and operational performance through proactive maintenance practices.
