Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Structural Draughtsperson for a dynamic consultancy in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will translate engineering designs into detailed drawings for residential, commercial and light industrial projects, ensuring compliance with SANS and project specs.

You will use AutoCAD as a core tool, with Revit Structure or BIM software as a strong advantage, and collaborate closely with structural engineers to maintain accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent Draughting/Design qualification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit Structure or BIM software a strong advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Structural Draughtsperson in a consulting environment.
• Solid understanding of SANS related to structural design and detailing.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings using CAD software (plans, sections, elevations, connection details).
• Prepare reinforcement detailing drawings for concrete structures.
• Develop fabrication drawings for steel structures as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering designs and building standards (SANS).
• Coordinate with structural engineers to clarify design requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized drawing revision system and project documentation.
• Assist engineers in preparing Bills of Quantities and related docs.
• Review architectural and other discipline drawings for integration with structural design.
• Communicate drawing status and issues with project team.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic structural engineering consultancy, is seeking a skilled Structural Draughtsperson to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is crucial for translating engineering designs into detailed, accurate technical drawings for a variety of building projects, including residential, commercial, and light industrial structures.
