Placements24 is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to lead design, analysis, and construction oversight for major bridge projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will perform structural calculations, produce design drawings, and supervise on-site execution to ensure safety and longevity of critical transport links.

The role requires registration as a Pr. Eng with ECSA and a minimum of seven years in bridge design with familiarity in seismic considerations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with bridge specialization.
• Professional registration as Pr. Eng. with ECSA is mandatory.
• At least 7 years of relevant bridge design and construction experience.
• Experience with seismic design and site supervision is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridges (concrete, steel, composite).
• Develop detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure designs meet SA national standards and international best practices.
• Conduct site investigations and assess existing bridge structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridges (e.g., concrete, steel, composite).

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a bridge specialization.
• Professional registration as Pr. Eng. with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in bridge design and construction.
• Expertise in bridge design software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, CSIBridge, SOFiSTiK).
• Strong understanding of bridge construction techniques, materials, and site supervision.
• Experience with seismic design and analysis for bridges, where applicable.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region and surrounding areas.
