SME Careers seeks a German Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) for an hourly, remote contractor role overseeing quality across German AI training projects. You will review AI-generated German content, assess trainer output, provide precise feedback, and ensure adherence to project rubrics and guidelines.

You will coordinate with remote trainers and QAs, maintain German documentation, and contribute to onboarding, style guides, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in German, Linguistics, Translation, or related field.
• Native or near-native German with strong reading/writing.
• Strong English to follow guidelines and provide feedback.
• 3+ years of professional German writing, editing, translation, localization, or content QA experience.
• Deep knowledge of German grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, capitalization, and tone.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers or QAs.
• Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets/Docs, trackers, dashboards, and PM systems.
• Experience with AI training or rubric-based QA is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Quality monitoring of German items and feedback to trainers and QAs.
• Update guidelines and project changes to teams on Discord.
• Answer questions on German wording, grammar, tone, and cultural context.
• Activate inactive contributors and manage follow-ups.
• Create and maintain German project documentation.
• Run onboarding/training calls explaining expectations and rubrics.
• Ensure consistent application of German language guidelines.
• Identify quality gaps and propose scalable QA improvements.
