Job summary

SME Careers is seeking an experienced localization professional to review and contribute German translation guidance for AI data training. The role emphasizes high editorial standards, MQM/LQA-informed quality decisions, and precise fact-checking across prompts and sources.

As a remote hourly contractor, you will apply C1 English proficiency and German localization expertise, ensuring culturally accurate terminology and consistent tone for Germany-focused content, with experience in AI data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in German Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field.
• Native or near-native German proficiency with strong Germany locale conventions.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency (reading/writing) for prompts and evaluation guidelines.
• 5+ years of professional localization/translation experience (multilingual localization preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to apply MQM/LQA concepts (severity, category, root-cause thinking) for quality decisions.
• Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows (translation memory, termbases, automated checks) and comfort with structured guidelines.
• Excellent editorial judgment (register, tone, inclusivity, cultural nuance) with attention to detail.
• Ability to rigorously fact-check localized content using reliable sources and consistent reasoning.
• Comfort working as an hourly contractor with dependable throughput andDocumentation.
• Experience with AI data training/annotation/evaluation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and responses to guide AI learning.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy and relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI models for inaccuracies or biases and validate reliability across use cases.
