Mercor seeks skilled Odia annotators to build structured page maps and faithful transcriptions of Odia documents. You will identify and bound regions, assign reading orders, and ensure precise, character-level accuracy across diverse layouts.

Responsibilities include sourcing Odia PDFs, annotating structure, linking regions to tables or figures, and comprehensive metadata capture. Collaboration with another Odia expert ensures quality in every task.

Qualifikationen

• Native Odia speaker with full command of the Odia script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or data review in regional languages.
• High emphasis on character-level accuracy and systematic layout analysis.

Aufgaben

• Source publicly accessible Odia PDFs in assigned document types containing multimodal elements and record the source.
• Annotate structure by bounding every meaningful region (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, figure, caption, etc.) and assign type and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figure or table.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce text exactly as in Odia, noting illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, handwriting.
• Review work with a second Odia expert to ensure accuracy.
