Mercor is seeking a native Malayalam speaker to annotate and transcribe documents with exact script fidelity. You will locate publicly accessible Malayalam PDFs, identify meaningful regions, and bind them with accurate reading orders across multi-column layouts.

You will produce character-accurate Malayalam transcriptions, flag illegible regions, and contribute to a diverse corpus of handwritten and printed materials used to train multilingual document AI models.

Qualifikationen

• Native Malayalam speaker with full command of the script and orthography.
• High emphasis on character-level accuracy in transcription and annotation.
• Experience with handling complex layouts and handwritten content is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Source documents: find publicly accessible Malayalam PDFs with multimodal elements and note the source.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, figure, caption, formula) and assign type and reading order.
• Record relationships: link regions to parent tables/figures via identifiers.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Malayalam text exactly, flag unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work: second Malayalam expert reviews each task.
