Job summary

International Atomic Energy Agency is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to prepare and support safeguards instrumentation, including assembly, testing and maintenance for use in facilities worldwide. The role reports to the Team Leader within SGTS-Unattended Systems Team and involves hands-on work and documentation.

The position requires experience with electrical and mechanical instrumentation, plus strong English communication.

Qualifications

Completed secondary education.
Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of electrical design principles and assembling instrumentation.
Experience writing technical documentation in English.
Excellent oral and written command of English.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the effective implementation and support of non-destructive assay and containment and surveillance systems used in nuclear safeguards verification activities.
Support fabrication of parts, assembly, testing, calibration, installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of safeguards instrumentation.
Assist with procurement activities, management of spare parts and inventories, testing, packing, shipping, and updating databases.
Support hands-on training on assigned instrumentation at HQ or in the field.
Prepare technical drawings, reports, specifications and other documentation for instrumentation implementation.
Operate milling, turning, drilling and grinding machines including CNC for fabrication of parts.
