Job summary

Lam Research is hiring a Junior Mechanical / Fluids Engineer for its Villach site. The role focuses on developing, verifying, and documenting fluid delivery systems, with strong CAD activities and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will create 3D models and drawings, perform analyses, and support interfaces with adjacent modules while learning company processes and safety requirements. English communication is essential, with some travel possible.

Qualifications

• Completed technical education in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or fluid engineering.
• First practical engineering experience via internships/projects helpful but not essential.
• Good understanding of mechanical design principles and strong interest in fluid delivery systems.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as Inventor, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings, tolerances, materials, manufacturing methods, and engineering documentation.
• Structured, hands-on approach to problem solving and willingness to learn new methods/tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, verification, and documentation of fluid delivery systems per system requirements.
• Create concepts, 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical designs for mechanical and chemical fluid systems with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Contribute to component selection, design calculations, engineering analyses, and technical evaluations.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of BOMs, engineering documentation, and design releases.
• Help define and coordinate interfaces with adjacent modules, subsystems, and facility connections.
• Prepare engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, FMEAs, risk assessments, test plans, and validation documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous design improvements.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers, suppliers, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to develop safe, reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.
• Learn and apply company engineering processes, CAD/PLM standards, safety requirements, and best practices while gradually taking ownership of defined design tasks.
