Lam Research in Salzburg is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge fluid and mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment, leading feasibility studies, testing, and detailed design.

You will create P&IDs, perform flow/thermal analyses, mentor colleagues, and work with suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role is on-site with flexible work arrangements and a competitive salary paid 14 times per year.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master's with 3+ years
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong presentation skills
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools: CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks
• Hands-on experimental/design background and solid engineering skills

The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you’ll do

• Lead fluidic and mechanical system development from concept through productization, including design, prototyping and validation
• Design and integrate gas and liquid delivery systems, selecting appropriate components for high-purity and process-critical applications
• Develop P&IDs, schematics, and layouts to ensure manufacturable system integration
• Perform engineering analyses (flow, pressure, thermal, structural) and execute testing to optimize system performance and robustness
• Generate technical documentation, FMEA and specifications to deliver safe, manufacturable and cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams while providing technical leadership and mentorship in fluid system design

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years; or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills
• Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE , SolidWorks, and others
• Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus
• Experience in leading projects, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities

'Virtual Flex' you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Employment in Austria

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise, education, and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
