Hotel Jagdhof, a 5-star property, is seeking an Operations Manager (m/f/d) to lead daily hotel operations and work closely with Owner and Executive Management. You will ensure seamless cross-department collaboration and guest experiences at the highest level.
You bring proven leadership, hospitality expertise and the ability to drive strategic initiatives while maintaining hands-on oversight. German and English fluency are essential; Italian a plus.
For our 5-star hotel, we are looking for someone who wants more than simply to fill a position.
We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility. Someone who understands how a hotel works, knows how to lead people, genuinely enjoys being a host and keeps an overview even when things do not go according to plan.
As our Hotel Operations Manager (m/f/d), you will be the central operational leader of our hotel and work directly with the Owner and Executive Management.
We are deliberately not looking for a traditional Hotel Director.
Strategy, business development and overall commercial responsibility remain with the Owner and Executive Management. Your world is the hotel and its day-to-day operation.

We are deliberately not looking for a traditional Hotel Director.
Strategy, business development and overall commercial responsibility remain with the Owner and Executive Management. Your world is the hotel and its day-to-day operation.
You make sure that our hotel works every day the way it should.
You are present throughout the hotel, understand its operations, speak with guests and employees and work closely with our department heads.
Front Office, Reservations, Housekeeping, Restaurant, Bar, Kitchen, Spa and Engineering are not separate worlds to you. You understand that an exceptional hotel experience can only be created when all departments work together.
You recognise where support is needed, set priorities and make sure that solutions are found and implemented.
Your role is not to take over the work of our department heads. You support them in successfully managing their departments, provide direction and step in whenever leadership or coordination is required.
When the Owner or Executive Management are not present, you have the final say on all operational matters.
You genuinely enjoy being around people.
You welcome returning guests and VIPs, are present in the restaurant, talk to our guests and personally take care of situations when something does not go quite as planned.
And of course, sometimes you will personally show a guest to their table or pick up a plate as you walk past.
Not because it is written in your job description.
But because you are a host.
At the same time, you understand that good leadership does not mean personally stepping in to solve every staffing shortage or operational bottleneck. If a department regularly requires additional support, you do not just look for a short-term solution. You look for the underlying cause.
You do not know our standards only from a manual.
You walk through the hotel. You inspect rooms. You see breakfast service. You know our restaurant. You walk through the Spa. You observe our guests arriving and notice the small details that make the difference.
If something does not meet our expectations, you address it and work with the responsible team to make it better.
An important part of your role is supporting and leading our employees and managers.
You assist with recruitment and interviews, support new employees as they join the team, conduct employee meetings and support our managers with personnel matters and holiday planning.
Sometimes difficult conversations and decisions are part of the job as well.
We are not looking for someone who leads through their title.
We are looking for someone people follow because they trust them.
You know the hotel industry and understand the operations of an upscale hotel.
Perhaps you have already worked as an Operations Manager, Rooms Division Manager, F&B Manager, Assistant Hotel Manager or have developed a broad understanding of hotel operations through various roles throughout your career.
The exact title on your previous business card is not important to us. Your formal education matters less to us than your experience, personality and attitude.
You speak German and English very well. Italian or additional languages are an advantage.
Above all, there are five things we are looking for:
Empathy. Loyalty. Character. Determination. And as little ego as possible.
You can make decisions without needing to put yourself at the centre of attention.
You can challenge people without losing respect for them.
You can listen and still make clear decisions.
And when you see a problem, you do not wait for someone else to solve it.
A hotel is alive in the mornings, evenings, on weekends and on public holidays.
That is why we are looking for someone whose presence is guided by when they are needed in the hotel, rather than exclusively by traditional office hours.
This does not mean working as many hours as possible.
It means being in the right place at the right time.
A position with genuine influence on the day-to-day operation of our hotel.
Short decision-making processes and direct collaboration with the Owner and Executive Management.
Experienced department heads and teams with whom you will continue to develop our operation.
Trust, responsibility and the freedom you need to make decisions and create meaningful improvements.
Your success will not be measured by how important you appear.
It will be measured by how well the entire hotel operates.
Every day, our guests experience the quality our hotel stands for. Our employees and managers know who they can turn to. Problems are recognised and solved before they become bigger.
And the Owner and Executive Management know:
The hotel’s operations are in good hands.
