Zusammenfassung

fonio in Vienna seeks a Head of Finance to own the entire finance operation across Europe and the US, guiding the transition to fully in-house accounting by 2027. You will lead month-end closings, tax, treasury and intercompany activities while building a lean ERP and finance workflows.

You will build and lead a growing finance team, work directly with founders and leadership, and ensure precise reporting down to the invoice line item across entities. Fluent German and English are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building finance in a fast-growing, international company across jurisdictions and accounting rules (ideally VC-backed B2B SaaS/Tech).
• Led closings and accounting prep yourself, not just reviews.
• Experience with controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury.
• Workflow automation and AI tools (Claude Code, n8n) are part of your toolkit.
• Attention to detail and flawless precision.

Aufgaben

• Own accounting for all entities and transition to in-house by 2027.

• Own VAT, sales tax, employment tax, and international tax; manage transfer pricing between entities.
• Oversee cash flow, forecasting, reserves, intercompany transfers and FX operations.
• Roll out a lean ERP and convert finance processes into automated workflows and AI agents.
• Build and lead the finance team, starting with the first hire after joining.
• Collaborate with founders and the leadership team.

Your Role

As Head of Finance, you own the entire finance operation behind one of Europe's fastest-growing companies, across our entities in Europe and the US.

• Own accounting for all entities: pre-accounting in-house, full ownership of our accounting stack, and the transition to fully in-house accounting in 2027.
• Run controlling: month-end, quarterly and annual closings, revenue reporting down to the invoice line item, cost and profit center reporting.
• Own tax: VAT and sales tax, employment tax and contributions, international tax, and transfer pricing between entities.
• Own cash flow and treasury: planning, forecasting, cash reserves, return optimization, intercompany transfers and FX.
• Roll out a lean ERP and turn everything manual in finance into workflows and AI agents.
• Build and lead the finance team, starting with your first hire shortly after you join.
• Work directly with both founders and the extended leadership team.

• You have run closings and accounting prep yourself, not just reviewed them.
• You are experienced across controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury.
• Workflows, agents and automations are your default, not the exception. Claude Code, n8n and similar tools are part of your toolkit.
• Obsession with detail: small errors bother you before they bother anyone else.
• Perfect German, very good English.
