Prospective Instruments, a Dornbirn-based start-up, seeks a Hands-on Optical Engineer with a strong photonics background. You will work on complex optical setups, develop microscopy techniques and integrate them into multimodal multiphoton products, including FLIM, coherent Raman imaging, structured illumination, and OCT.
You will manufacture custom microscopes and subsystems, support product demonstrations, write application notes, and share feedback with R&D; travel as needed.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a colleague with a strong background in photonics (general optics and ultrafast lasers), with a particular focus on hands-on work with laser scanning microscopy technologies.
Your role
As an optical engineer, you will work closely with specialists at leading international research institutions and technology pioneers in academia and industry. A key part of your role will be to develop advanced microscopy techniques and integrate them into our new and existing multimodal multiphoton products. These techniques include FLIM, coherent Raman imaging, structured illumination microscopy, light-sheet microscopy, OCT and photoacoustic microscopy.
The position requires excellent practical skills in working with complex optical setups and optomechanical assemblies, good communication skills and a willingness to travel. Your responsibilities are to:
