Job summary

ams OSRAM in Premstätten, Austria, seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a team of Maintenance Engineers and FLM Technicians, driving reliability, quality, and continuous improvement across production equipment.

You will plan tool capacities, optimize resources, monitor KPIs such as Uptime, MTTR, MTBF and PM Compliance, and collaborate with Process, Engineering, and suppliers to keep operations safe and productive.

Qualifications

• Completed technical education at HTL/technical secondary school or through a vocational apprenticeship with several years of technical work experience.
• Strong leadership and delegation skills; first leadership experience an advantage.
• Experience in mechatronics, electronics and networking technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Willingness to learn and strong problem-solving skills.
• Sense of responsibility, independence and decision-making ability.
• Team player with proactive communication within a professional environment.
• Proficiency in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the workgroup; commission, maintain, repair and continuously improve manufacturing equipment and tools.
• Lead, manage and coach Maintenance Engineers and FLM Technicians to meet targets and quality standards.
• Define and implement measures to achieve KPIs: Uptime, MTTR, MTBF and PM Compliance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (Process, Engineering, Line Control, Facility, suppliers).
• Optimize resources to maximize productivity through higher equipment availability and better OEE; plan improvements.
• Plan tool capacities and capabilities to ensure productivity and quality objectives.
• Monitor costs and performance; drive continuous improvement projects.

• Overall responsibility for the successful execution of all tasks within the workgroup, including commissioning, ongoing maintenance, sustainable repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and associated tools
• Lead, manage, and coach team members, including Maintenance Engineers and First-Level-Maintenance (FLM) Technicians, to achieve operational targets, ensure required quality standards, and build a qualified and proactive team
• Define and implement measures to achieve KPIs such as Uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and PM Compliance
• Ensure effective communication internally, externally, and with relevant departments and stakeholders (e.g., Process, Engineering, Line Control, Facility, and equipment suppliers)
• Optimize personnel, equipment, and process resources to maximize productivity through increased equipment availability, improved OEE, cost reduction, and the planning and implementation of improvement projects
• Strategically plan required tool capacities and capabilities to achieve optimal productivity and quality
• Monitor and report performance and costs in alignment with production targets, including defining and implementing continuous improvement projects

Profile description:

• Completed technical education, either at a Higher Technical College (HTL) / technical secondary school or through a vocational apprenticeship combined with several years of technical work experience
• Strong leadership skills, able to act as a role model and effectively delegate tasks. First leadership experience is an advantage
• Experience in mechatronics, electronics, and networking technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Willingness to learn and strong problem-solving skills
• Sense of responsibility, ability to work independently, and make decisions
• Team player with proactive communication skills within the professional environment
• Proficiency in German and English
